The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion centers around a major problem in Cyrodiil, the central province of the continent and country of Tamriel. The emperor was murdered and because the country is now uncontrolled, Mehrunes Dagon, the Prince of Destruction, tries to conquer Cyrodiil. Everywhere in this province, Oblivion gates open from which his armies flow. In this world you have to hold your own and fight Mehrunes Dagon.

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion you can create your own character in detail. Choose from one of eight varieties, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Choose a face and the clothes your character is wearing. Then choose whether you want to follow the story completely or cross the big world of Oblivion yourself and complete the many separate missions. Ultimately, it is up to you whether to close the gates of Oblivion. The world of this RPG is big. There are a total of seven cities and one capital (the Imperial City). Each city has its own inhabitants that are completely unique. The inhabitants eat, sleep and even have their own wishes. They therefore go out themselves to fulfill these wishes.

In addition to the extended adventure described above, two additions have been added to this Game of the Year edition. The first is called Shivering Isles. This expansion offers over 30 hours of new gameplay. You will be sent out to explore a whole new area in Oblivion: the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles continues in the existing world of Oblivion, so you can continue with your existing savegame and character. However, if you want, you can also create a new character and explore this in Shivering Isles.

The realm of the deranged Sheogorath is divided into two parts that are opposites: Mania and Dementia. Where Dementia is predominantly dark and looks terrifying, Mania is mostly colorful and cheerful, despite the fact that the enemies are no less strong. You will have to make a choice in the beginning in which part you start, but this does not affect the course of the game, because the worlds blend seamlessly. The new areas of Shivering Isles are bizarre and very different from what youve ever seen in Oblivion. This world is populated by terrible insects, Flesh Atronachs, Shambles skeletons, Grummites amphibians and much more. You can tackle these with new weapons and armor that you can find in Shivering Isles, or have them made by the talented craftsmen of Crucible and Bliss.

The second expansion is called Knights of the Nine. Knights of the Nine is a compilation featuring a new selection of dungeons, objects, characters and new adventures. In addition, the expansion includes a new faction: The Knights of the Nine. The new faction and missions are made for noble characters and contain the answers to the mysteries surrounding the ruins of Ayleid. Players can join the new faction and form their own order with holy knights. With this you can go to war against a wizard king and his demon subjects.
