In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns to his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that large sections of the wizarding community do not pretend that the teenagers clash with the evil Lord Voldemort, and prefer not to pretend that Voldemort has returned. Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge fears that Hogwarts venerable principal, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemorts return to undermine Fudges power and take over his job. Therefore, he appoints a new teacher in defense of black arts to keep an eye on Dumbledore and Hogwarts students. But with Professor Dolores Umbridges ministry - approved course in defense magic, the young wizards and witches become miserable when it comes to defending themselves against the dark forces that threaten them and the entire wizarding community. Following allegations from his friends, Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Harry and a group of students who call themselves Dumledores Army meet in secret and Harry teaches them to defend themselves against black arts, to prepare the brave young wizards and witches for the terrible battle that awaits.
