Tech Romancer is you pro-typical-3D-beatem-up. Based on huge towering robots, rather than just crazy karate experts, this game gives new meaning large robots. The robots are so large, in fact, that the backdrops shown are missile bases or outskirts of cities, and as you battle against many opponents you forget that youve just crushed a couple of tower blocks.

Apart from the idea of fighting with Robots--some of which are made from the likes of cars and boats--the game is pretty much your average beat-em-up with new moves, new combos and new characters to get used too.

Unfortunately this game doesnt offer anything that the others dont. And with such a large array of beatem ups on the Dreamcast, youre pretty much spoilt for choice with the likes of the Marvel vs Capcom series, the everlasting Street Fighter series and other greats.

If your having trouble with robot envy then this might just be the title for you, otherwise the more grander, serialised beat-em ups are probably more suitable
