The original SOCOM was one of last years biggest successes - and its easy to see why. The player is allowed to lead an elite force with Navy SEAL soldiers, and takes on dangerous missions against the shady terrorist enemy. SOCOM is not only realistic but also incredibly fun. This game was PlayStation 2s first step into the world of online gaming and established on its own a burning community that is still at war today.

Now the SEAL soldiers are back and seem to be able to strengthen their positions as the game worlds cruelest guys. Now comes another nice single-player campaign combined with an extremely addictive multiplayer mode online. In addition, the entire SOCOM package is of course packed with improvements and new additions.

Individual players have 12 missions to fight their way through, with each mission containing a variety of objectives. While enjoying exotic locations such as Algeria, Albania, Brazil and Russia, join forces with allied special forces, including the British SAS and the Russian Spetznaz, and try to achieve your goals that can be changed in just a few seconds in the hectic environment. To help you, you also have new equipment and new weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades and mounted machine guns.

The maps are more intelligently designed than ever and encourage tactical and team-based play and a variety of strategies. In addition to those available in the original version, there are also new game modes. In Escort, the SEAL soldiers are given the task of bringing a group of important people to safety, while in Breach they have to take over and destroy a terrorist stronghold.
