In RTL Winter Sports 2010 players get to take part in a tiring variety of events of their choice such as boardercross, flying ski, Alpine freeride ski, skiing, short track speed skating, skating, sledding and biathlon. RTL Winter Sports 2010 players also have a complex career mode to look forward to. In story-based career mode, players can invest whatever experience points they collect in improved skills and equipment for their characters and work their way from beginner level to keeping pace with world-class athletes. All of this takes place within an exciting story, in which the player participates in 16 competitions against four national teams.

The game features five game modes: career, Cup, single course, campaign and multiplayer, with four levels of difficulty: easy, normal and difficult, extreme. The story-based career mode features elements of role-playing, special skills and upgrades, as well as 44 exciting challenges.

The multiplayer mode has online and split screen modes (for up to four players), with the online mode, having a world ranking system.

Those who want to show a little creativity in their winter sports will also have an extended trick system for boardercross and freestyle skiing!
